Purchase & Deployment
SupportID is available on the App Store for $0.99 per device. For enterprise and education deployments, purchase licenses in volume through Apple Business Manager and distribute them silently via your MDM.
Purchasing Through Apple Business Manager
Apple Business Manager (ABM) lets you purchase App Store apps in bulk and assign them to devices without requiring Apple IDs on each device.
-
Sign in to Apple Business Manager
Go to business.apple.com and sign in with your organization’s ABM account.
-
Search for SupportID
Navigate to Apps and Books → search for SupportID by DevScape.io.
-
Purchase licenses
Select the quantity of licenses needed and complete the purchase at $0.99 per license.
-
Assign to your MDM
Licenses are automatically synced to your connected MDM server. Ensure your MDM is linked to ABM under Settings → MDM Servers.
Deploying via MDM
Once licenses are purchased in ABM, assign and deploy SupportID through your MDM:
- Navigate to Mobile Devices → Apps.
- Click New → App Store app or apps purchased in volume.
- Search for SupportID — it should appear with your available licenses.
- Enable Distribute Content as Managed to allow silent installation.
- Configure scoping and assign to target devices or groups.
- Add the Managed App Configuration (see Jamf Pro Guide).
- Navigate to Library → Apps.
- Click Add new → search for SupportID under VPP apps.
- Assign the app to the appropriate Blueprints.
- Enable Install Automatically for silent deployment.
- Add the App Configuration (see Kandji Guide).
- Navigate to Apps → iOS/iPadOS → Add.
- Select iOS store app (or iOS volume-purchased app if synced via ABM token).
- Search for SupportID and select it.
- Assign to your target Azure AD groups as Required for silent install.
- Create an App Configuration Policy (see Intune Guide).
- Navigate to Apps & Books → Applications → Native.
- Click Add Application → Public.
- Search for SupportID in the App Store.
- Enable Send Application Configuration and configure assignment.
- Add the Application Configuration (see Workspace ONE Guide).

How Device-Based Licensing Works
When you purchase through ABM, licenses are device-based — they’re assigned to the device, not the user. This means:
- No Apple ID is required on the device to install the app
- Apps can be silently installed without user interaction
- Licenses can be revoked and reassigned when devices are reprovisioned
- Works with Shared iPad and supervised devices
License Management
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Purchase more licenses | ABM → Apps and Books → search → add quantity |
| Revoke a license | Unassign the app from the device in your MDM |
| Reassign a license | Revoked licenses return to your pool automatically |
| Check license count | ABM → Apps and Books → SupportID → view assignments |
Managed App Configuration
The app is configured entirely through Managed App Configuration delivered by your MDM — not through the App Store or within the app itself. After deploying the app, you must also push a configuration profile with your desired settings.
See the Configuration Overview for details on all available settings, or jump to your platform’s guide:
Verifying the Deployment
- Confirm the app appears on the target device’s home screen.
- Open SupportID and tap the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Check Configuration Status — it should show Active with a green checkmark.
- If the status shows inactive, verify the Managed App Configuration was pushed alongside the app.
